Hi! I’m Cate.
Finding a therapist that is a good fit is one of the most important steps in going to therapy. With the whole internet to scroll, I’m so glad you made it here.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Cate Temple, and I love nothing more than getting to share space with people as they journey through self discovery and reach goals that help them live authentically. Whether you are seeking guidance through a difficult time, looking to explore deeper aspects of yourself, or simply need a supportive shoulder to lean on, I am honored to be able to be that person for you. I truly look forward to guiding you through the twists, turns, and not-so-pretty parts of life, celebrating your wins and triumphs, and helping you understand how your brain works. My sense of humor comes with me everywhere I go so we’ll have some laughs along the way.
As the owner of Holding Space Therapy, LLC, I bring an extensive 10+ year background leveraging various therapeutic modalities, as well as vast expertise, including things like stress management, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, boundaries, and career/family dynamics. Even more, I enjoy working with people through some of life’s most testing situations and ultimately doing so while helping them recognize their innate worth, find healthy coping mechanisms, and feel confident as they begin shifting from the state of surviving to genuinely living.
You're feeling a bit off lately, right? Perhaps you feel like you're drifting into some abyss while everyone around you has direction and purpose. Maybe you have been saying yes to things you don't really want to do. Or perhaps you lost sight of your path and you're questioning whether something is inherently wrong with you. But as a therapist and human, I want to remind you that it's natural to feel – even if those feelings don’t feel the greatest. Life is a complex web of experiences that can stir up a whole range of emotions and reactions. Sometimes those feelings are helpful and sometimes they're overwhelming, but they are always valid. No one is meant to simply “move on” or “get over it.” You’ve tried that, so let’s try something new.
I’ve always been someone who loves continuous growth and learning. Though this has led to my passions covering a lot of ground, being a therapist is what my heart has always been centered around. This became the catalyst for me to earn my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University, train in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and gain extensive training in trauma-informed treatment. With me, you can expect an eclectic approach to therapy, intertwining strategies and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment Theory from a trauma-informed lens. In addition, the freedom to unlock curiosity and to just BE and look within to discover your own path.
Overall, nothing makes me happier than helping others find their passions and create a life that is authentically you - all within a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment where being heard is valued and being vulnerable feels safe, like talking to a familiar friend that sees you and offers accountability and compassion. So let’s connect. In the end, therapy is not always easy, but you're not in this alone.
